Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Mr. Spielberg has so effectively spaced out the shocks that by the time we reach the spectacular final confrontation between the three men and the great white shark, we totally accept the makebelieve on its own foolishly entertaining terms. – Vincent Canby, New York Times, Aug 22, 2014

Fresh: Spielberg works self-effacingly, with subtly correct camera placement and meticulous editing. He twists our guts with false alarms, giving us the real thing with heart-stopping suddenness. – TIME Magazine, Aug 22, 2014

Fresh: The fast-moving 124-minute film engenders enormous suspense as the shark attacks a succession of people. – A.D. Murphy, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: A near Hitchcockian exercise in transference of guilt and making the audience pay for its illicit pleasures. – J. Hoberman, Village Voice, Jul 29, 2013

Foreign Subtitles-Can't turn 'em off

It's a good movie, but the iTunes edition has foreign subtitles that appear whenever a sign is shown. Fix it, Apple.

Jaws The Movie Don't Buy it!!!!

here is my email from iTunes Don't buy it
I appreciate your patience while I have been looking into this matter for you, and I am happy to assist you further.

I have reviewed the case further and have consulted with my engineers team, and was able to verify that the subtitles that appear in the movie when a sign is present on the screen, was intended by the studio to translate the writing on the screen. This is not a glitch in the iTunes Store and was intended by the provider. Because the content was intentionally added, we cannot remove it fem the movie for you.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and I hope the information provided has been helpful. Thank you for choosing the iTunes Store

Great movie but...

I bought the movie and it comes with Spanish subtitles for everything in print. It is very disruptive and takes away from the movie. iTunes should have disclosed this.
