Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: "Eastwood's got a feel for music (he composed the scores for most of his recent films). But he doesn't have a particular flair for musical staging."
Rotten: Christopher Walken plays a gangster who can fix anything; maybe he should have taken charge of the film.
Rotten: Jersey Boys comes to life only toward the end.
Fresh: The combination of... [Woody Allen & Clint Eastwood] has resulted in a Broadway adaptation that hums with vigour, sings with the capricious unpredictability of fate and fame, and does firm and lasting justice to the legacy of that vintage studio logo.
Incredible and Amazing!
I went in not knowing anything about this movie but I didn't have to. It captures your attention from the moment it starts. I've never been disappointed by a Clint Eastwood movie and I wasn't by Jersey Boys either. Well done!
Spectacular from beginning to end!!
I went to see this movie because my parents told me how good it was and that I'd like it because I have a love for all kinds of music. So I went knowing some of their songs and was amazed at how many
I never knew was theirs. The story line was great and it was nice to get a feeling for how they came to be a really well known group of today. John Lloyd Young did a amazing job portraying Frankie Valli on the big screen as to playing him on Broadway as well. Also loved that it was all recorded with live music. You don't find that much anymore with musicals anymore as most of them are just dubbed. I know that it'll appeal to mainly the older audiences, but I myself being from a more younger audience has learned to love the oldies. Overall I was really pleased with the movie.
The movie doesn't disappoint. As good as the Broadway show with more background A solid 10
