Plot Summary

From the studio that brought you Shaun of the Dead: Juan is a slacker who has never quite managed to get his life in order until a zombie invasion takes over Havana and an unexpected opportunity to capitalize on the situation presents itself! Joined by a ragtag group of survivors, Juan begins a hilarious, action-packed zombie-killing quest, exterminating the undead (for the right price). Reaping the rewards, Juan finally found something he’s good at, until it becomes increasingly obvious that escaping from the island is the only option! A Focus World presentation.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: This wacky zombie comedy exploits to the full this genre's juicy potential for satire: a more solemn kind of movie maybe couldn't get away with being quite as irreverent about the Castro government. – Peter Bradshaw, Guardian, May 3, 2012

Fresh: Rum zombie flick blends hit-and-miss buddy comedy with slyly subversive political commentary. – Anton Bitel, Little White Lies, May 3, 2012

Rotten: The 'Evil Dead' and Romero nods are fun, but characters appear for no reason and are bumped off without warning; there's just not enough flesh on these funny bones. – Nigel Floyd, Time Out, May 3, 2012

Fresh: If it's not too late in the day for yet another zombie movie, this has enough small pleasures - especially in the lead characterisations - to make it a worthwhile watch for a) Cuban exiles and b) long-term zombie completists. – Kim Newman, Empire Magazine, Apr 29, 2012

Hilarious!

I came across this movie by accident and being that I am both a Cuban exile and zombie aficionado decided to rent it. I have not laughed this hard in months. It is a nice homage to tried and true zombie movies. If you are Cuban, the scenes of Havana and the language will bring back memories. A must see!

Great movie!

I was honestly skeptical of this movie given the recent let down
of several other "zom-coms". However, this movie was hilarious,
touching, and had great zombie kills. The fact that the movie
ended with the Sid Vicious version of "My Way" was fitting
and awesome. Definitely worth renting and even buying for a
zombie movie library.
