Customer Reviews

Ford and Borgnine how does it get better?

This is a very good western that has Ford depicting one of his best roles, the misunderstood drifter. Borgnines performance is really good and the character he plays fits him perfectly. A great late-night western.

Another Great Daves Western

Sure, John Ford was good. But, Delmer Daves gave us BROKEN ARROW, 3:10 TO YUMA (the superior 1957 original), and this incredibly suspenseful drama, JUBAL. In JUBAL there is a wonderful mix of veteran actors (e.g. Noah Beery Jr.) and then-new (e.g. Charles Bronson, Felicia Farr) actors. Daves was a great director. Unlike John Ford, there's little or no padding in his films. Characterization and plot evolve naturally.
