About the Movie
Adventure runs wild when renowned paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) agrees to accompany a wealthy adventurer (William H. Macy) and his wife (Tea Leoni) on an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, InGen's former breeding ground for prehistoric creatures. But when they're terrifyingly stranded, Dr. Grant discovers that his hosts are not what they seem and the island's native inhabitants are smarter, faster, fiercer and more brutal than he ever imagined in this heart-stomping thriller.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Spielberg's wizardry is gone, and his balletic light touch as well, and that gives too much of this 90-minute movie over to the duller-than-dull characters.
Rotten: Too bad the script doesn't extend the same courtesy to the actors, who are saddled with dialogue neither man nor beast could respond to.
Fresh: As always, the technical credits are not only outstanding but the whole reason for the film to exist.
Fresh: Has the integrity of a solid B-movie.
A new wrinkle
The threat of these cute little creatures is from a different direction in this episode. Stupid people out do themselves in this episode- but there is a decent level of suspense and resolutions that make some sense. Peter Travers was worried about dialogue but this ain't art. I envy this generation of kids for what they can get at the Saturday matinees when I was stuck with very lame post-WW2 stuff (Lash Larue, Buster Crabbe et al.). The effects are cool and the menace was real. This one should be at least an 75 or 80%.
If you follow Michael Crichton - you will get a HIT!
There's a reason why Michael Crichton didn't write a 3rd book associated with Jurassic Park....it's because he knew when to quit! I wished the screenwriters, producers and directors did the same. This isn't as bad as "The Lost World"....but there are some "What the hell" moments that are just dumb. Do yourself a favor - just read the books.
This is the best out of all of them I recamend buying it
