Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: His fans will love it; their main complaint may be that it ends too soon.
Fresh: He tells elliptical stories that go on so long and take so many weird detours that they end up being funny even when they shouldn't be.
Rotten: His energetic stand-up routine at the Garden can be riotously funny. It also can be frenetic and repetitive. More judicious editing would have showcased his talents better.
Fresh: Some of Hart's set -- including jokes about his security team and an inspired recounting of a disastrous trip to a dude ranch -- is hilarious. And his profane outrage is often funny enough to sell the weaker writing.
A Surprising Disappointment
I am a huge Kevin Hart fan, but I truly feel he let his fans down with this film. He is a fun and energetic person, but perhaps he is doing too much at one time. He needs to regain his focus and authenticity.
I like Kevin Hart but this performance was very disappointing compared to his other shows. Especially for a Madison Square Garden show. Skip it.
The famous Kevin Hart ha been making stand-up films from "Seriously Funny" to "Laugh at my Pain and now "Let me Explain". Being that I saw his first two I had high expectations and it met all of them. Kevin Hart just doesn't stop once he starts. He's like a machine gun throwing jokes everywhere. How does he breathe? With his third film he succeeds to make me laugh even more. He's hilarious, he has a great energy on stage, and it's hard not to like him. If your not a Kevin Hart fan when you watch this you will be. I had those type of laughs that hurt your stomach. Kevin starts it off with a party and gets mad so he wants to get some stuff off his chest. Where does he decide to do this, well, just Maddison Square Garden. He kills it on stage and bring the classic entertainment of storytelling. He gives insight to his personal life which makes it more interesting. This film is filled with fun, it's definitely worth looking into.
