About the Movie
Jean-Claude Van Damme returns for a new chapter in the adrenaline charged Kickboxer legacy. Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi) has always been there for his brother, Eric (Darren Shahlavi), who’s known in the martial arts world as a modern-day warrior. But when the ruthless and undefeated fighter Tong Po (David Bautista) brutally ends Eric’s life in a no-holds-barred match in Thailand, Kurt devotes himself to training with a master (Van Damme) in a quest for redemption… and revenge. Featuring MMA champions Georges St-Pierre, Gina Carano, Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum, Kickboxer: Vengeance delivers a one-two punch of jaw dropping fights and death defying stunts.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Alas, the film's testosterone cocktail curdles at the end of Kurt and Tong Po's bloody climactic bout.
Fresh: "Vengeance" is well-crafted good fun - and good proof that you don't need more than two hours or $100 million to give ticket buyers their money's worth in popcorn thrills.
Rotten: While Moussi has ample skills as a fighter - and is plenty handsome to boot - he lacks Van Damme's charisma.
Fresh: This reboot smartly doesn't try to escalate the material to bigger and better status, keeping things small and scrappy and relying on the fighters to be the best special effects.
There was so much potential...
I waited for this movie quite some time and with all the great fighters in it (and JCVD) I had high expectations. While the fight scenes are good to great the story didn't live up to my expectations. I hoped for more explanations about Tong Po's past, the trainers past and maybe even more depth to the main character. Things that the original already lacked could've made this movie not just good but an all time great, I am mostly disappointed by the unnecessary love story in the movie that for me doesn't add anything to it. Overall worth watching for the fight scenes but that's about it.
Very worthy remake!
I was impressed with how good the fighting style was in the movie. The lead Alain Moussi (taking over for JCVD) is one hell of a fighter also Jean Claude gets easily his best fight work/choreography in years. Batista is menacing as the villain Tong Po but not enough time is spent on him. This is the first of a planned trilogy, love irking forward to the sequel! You'll enjoy if your a Jean Claude fan and/or a fan of the original.
I like it👌Ok rental
