About the Movie

When young missionary KATE LOGAN learns of ESCUELA CARIBE, a small Christian boarding school that bills itself as a rehabilitation center for troubled teens from the U. S. , she sees the perfect opportunity to make a difference. Hoping to document the positive effects a place like this could have on struggling youth, she is allowed to live on campus in the Dominican Republic for a summer. Once there, she discovers the shocking truth beneath the sunny facade of this remote reform school and encounters David, Beth and Tai - three students who will forever change her life as she struggles to help one escape.

This is beyond amazing

This film is heartbreaking. To know that kids were subjected to this treatment makes me sick to my stomach. It was cruel and wrong. I applaud the director Kate Logan for knowing something was wrong, helping get David out of there and making this film. She has brought to light something that no person should go through. We all can do something so that this does not happen to anyone else.

Quite the Documentary

I am glad that Kate had the ability to tell David’s and everyone else’s stories and that David and the others were willing to tell. It is shameful that behavior modification programs exist and this documentary definitely makes me feel like I can and should do something about it.
