About the Movie

From director Ben Wheatley (DOWN TERRACE), KILL LIST is a mind-blowing genre concoction being called the “#1 Horror Film of the Year” (Bloody-Disgusting). A brilliant blend of family drama, hitman action-thriller and terrifying psychological horror film, KILL LIST tells the story of an ex-soldier turned contract killer who is plunged into the heart of human darkness. Eight months after a disastrous hit job in Kiev left him physically and mentally scarred, Jay (Neil Maskell) is pressured by his partner Gal (BIFA Winner Michael Smiley), into taking a new assignment. As they descend into the bizarre, disturbing world of the contract, Jay’s world begins to unravel until fear and paranoia send him reeling towards a horrifying point of no return.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The film's title may draw you in, but it's the texture that keeps you watching. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Feb 2, 2012

Rotten: Tries to be Eyes Wide Shut, The Wicker Man, and The Twilight Zone all at once, but only makes you wish that you were watching one of them instead. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Feb 15, 2012

Fresh: Displaying both a nasty edge and a playful sense of humor -- but thankfully, never at the same time -- Brit import Kill List is several cuts above its fellow midbudget horror brethren. – Andrew Barker, Variety, Jan 8, 2013

Fresh: The camera is unflinching, and so is Wheatley, as the story moves toward the unthinkable. It's left to you when and whether to look away. – Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times, Feb 2, 2012

I didn't read a thing about the movie before randomly watching it this afternoon. Wonderful acting and nice cinematography. Starts out as a stressed-out family drama and slithers into much darker territory. Is the concept wholly original? No; it will remind you of a classic English horror movie. That being said, this was very well done. Recommended.

Slow Burn

HEAVY MOVIE that is not for everyone! As a matter of fact, I would have trouble recommending it to very many people, even though I'm giving it a high score. A good barometer film might be something like "I Saw the Devil" or "Red, White & Blue." If you're looking for a traditional horror film, look elsewhere. This is some heady stuff.

Fantastic twisted horror movie. Bad reviews are from people who neeeed to have evry question answered in any movie they watch. This movie is definetly not for everyone but If you like messed up movies that make you think youll like this one and its creepy as hell!!!!
