Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: An amusing if dispensable mockumentary from former "Saturday Night Live" funnyman Taran Killam, who wrote, directed and stars.
Rotten: More than anything, Killing Gunther demonstrates that Christopher Guest has a lot to atone for with his pioneering of the mockumentary, which has become the lazy, go-to style for low-budget comedies.
Fresh: It's little more than a diverting sketch, but its characters justify its ninety minutes, and Killam's unremitting enthusiasm is occasionally contagious.
Rotten: Although the production is sporadically amusing, it feels like a 20-minute short that was expanded to feature length to its considerable detriment.
Bad movie deceptive marketing
killing gunther is not funny and is a bad movie. Watching this movie will remind you just how awesome Arnold Schwarzenegger is. Not because it’s good. It’s not, it’s horrible. It will remind you because the movie is completely unbearable until Schwarzenegger shows up. Taran Killam is an unfunny hack of the first order. Schwarzenegger is barely in this movie. Using his face and name to sell this movie is deceptive marketing at its worst. Schwarzenegger, the name and face used to sell this movie, shows up an hour and seven minutes into killing Gunther....a movie that is an hour and a half long. This is One 90s child disappointed
Wow is this bad.
The actors were sleepwalking through this flick. Bad story, bad acting, bad, well, everything. Save your time, and money. You have been warned.
Horrible. Not funny. Just sad actually.
