Plot Summary

KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM follows three best friends (Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn and Ryan Kwanten) and dedicated LARPers (Live Action Role Players) as they take to the woods to reenact a dungeons and dragons-like scenario fresh out of the mythical Middle Ages. Trouble arises after they unwittingly conjure up some serious evil in the form of a blood-lusting Succubus, from the pits of hell. Fantasy and reality collide on the Fields of Evermore in an all-out epic battle of make-believe wizards, demons and assorted mythical creatures. Their courage and friendship is put to the test as they attempt to vanquish the evil they have summoned. Will the group prove to simply be foam sword-wielding LARPers, or true “Knights of Badassdom?”

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: "Knights of Badassdom" actually delivers everything the 2011 Danny McBride-James Franco comedy "Your Highness" purported to be but fell short on. – Martin Tsai, Los Angeles Times, Jan 23, 2014

Rotten: This movie about Live Action Role Players (or LARPers) -- men and women who act out Dungeons and Dragons in real settings, in costumes -- is so haphazard it might have been thought up during a game of Mad Libs. – Michael Sragow, Orange County Register, Jan 30, 2014

Rotten: A one-note joke and a whiff of a story that fails to offer a single reason - literal or metaphorical - why dressing up as a fictional character is enjoyable or rewarding. – Todd Gilchrist, TheWrap, Jan 21, 2014

The greatest geek creation of All Time!

This movie has all time favorite actors from great dork film/TV shows. Its that "bad" movie kind of good. Its hilarious! I have it, I own it, and I regret nothing!

MUST SEE

There are bad movies and then there are bad movies that are so bad they are good. This is one of those. This film poke fun at LARP in a good spirited way, as well as itself. I had the pleaser of seeing this ar a sneak preview showing. It was money well spent.

Absolutely Amazing

I was able to catch this in a theater filled with true fans, and it was a fantastic experience. This movie knows exactly what it is and doesn’t waste time with pesky things like visually stunning effects when comedic effects are just as good if not better.

You will laugh. Hard. And a lot.

Then you will want to listen to Doom Metal. You have been warned!
