Plot Summary

"KUNG FUN!" -Gene Shalit, Today -- Prepare for awesomeness with DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda, "a delightful movie that can stand among the very best animated features" (Leonard Maltin, Entertainment Tonight). Jack Black is perfect as the voice of Po, a noodle-slurping dreamer who must embrace his true self – fuzzy flaws and all – in order to become the Dragon Warrior. With groundbreaking animation, an all-star cast and high-kicking humor, Kung Fu Panda is "Ultra-satisfying entertainment... There's heart in this movie and that's the secret ingredient." (Richard Corliss, Time)

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A master [course] in cunning visual art and ultra-satisfying entertainment. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Oct 18, 2008

Fresh: The animation work is dazzling; it's lovingly detailed without being overdone (particularly the opening sequence, which is hand-drawn and looks like prints struck from ancient woodblocks). – Bruce Diones, New Yorker, Nov 22, 2013

Fresh: Kung Fu Panda gets across important and inevitable plot information in ways that are novel and unexpected. Things simply don't happen the way they usually happen in animated stories. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Oct 18, 2008

Fresh: This is an unashamedly old-fashioned children's movie, and a predictable message is part of the mission. But that's okay; what the movie lacks in surprises, it makes up for in whimsical fun – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, Jul 7, 2010
