About the Movie

Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike) steps behind the camera for LA BARE, a documentary film that goes behind the curtain, behind the stage and behind the magic of the world’s most popular male strip club – La Bare Dallas. Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The name proves unfortunately apt for a rambling, superficial documentary that straddles the line between expose and infomercial. – Ben Kenigsberg, New York Times, Jun 26, 2014

Fresh: You'll get your man-cake, if that's what you came for, but Manganiello works hard to show the sometimes harsh realities behind the oiled pecs and tear-away pants. – Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly, Dec 3, 2014

Fresh: It's hardly an essay on gender politics, but read between the lines and you'll find some interesting contrasts. – Chris Vognar, Dallas Morning News, Jun 26, 2014

Fresh: "La Bare" shows its reality-TV origin in its structure, to sometimes a cliched degree, but overall it is a friendly and affectionate backstage look at the world of the mostly-straight male dancers at La Bare. – Sheila O'Malley, RogerEbert.com, Jun 27, 2014

Don't call yourself "Choc Boom Boom"!

Not your ordinary documentary! I laughed, cried and got all hot and bothered. :) This movie should be a pre-requisite if a guy wants to really impress his girl with some "preheated" moves. Girls just want to know that the guy has put some effort into their "routine".

LOVEEEEE ITTTT

This movie is so awesome! It made me want to go to La bare!!! The guys are super nice and are great dancers!!!

Not Just for Chicks

La Bare is surprisingly fun and not just a movie for chicks. The guys seem like dudes you'd want to be friends with and the whole movie has an exciting party feel. Who would have thought that being a male stripper would seem so cool.
