Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The warmth comes through, even if the storytelling is simplistic and cliched. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Apr 8, 2010

Fresh: Benjamin Bratt brings his A-game to a difficult, potentially cliched role. – Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: As subtle as a face-punch, La Mission nobly continues a necessary conversation about homophobia, but paves the way to hell with its own good intentions. – Melissa Anderson, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Observing the phases both father and son endure as they try to forgive and prioritize in order to survive makes La Mission a poignant and unusual film, one that you won't soon forget. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

Great film to watch

I love this movie and being able to see it and then have Mr. Benjamin Bratt come out and have Q&A after the movie was done was an extra plus. I recommend everyone to buy this movie and the sound track. This movie shows that we all have to except things in are lives that are hard to except and that we always have people in are lives that love us no matter what. I cried, laughed, and was surprised to see a great movie that touched on alot of great topics in a world today. And to think Hollywood pasted on the idea to do this movie...

Under the Radar

This one slipped under the radar as one of the best movies Benjamin Bratt has done. I went to the Q&A on one of the premieres. "Never judge anyone based on what you've grown up to believe is immoral when you never know it can come in front of you, especially someone you love." -Benjamin Bratt

I love this movie. It's very original when it comes to the plot. Touches my heart every time. :)
