Glad to see that iTunes finally added this Bruce Willis classic. Great action movie with Bruce at his best.

Enteraining, but slighly watered-down remake

This is essentially the second remake of the classic Kurosawa Ronin/Samurai film "Yojimbo", after Sergio Leone's "Fisful of Dollars" with Clint Eastwood, a classic in its own right. This version is certainly entertaining, and anyone who loves Bruce Willis (I've never met anyone who doesn't) will enjoy this more modern gangster telling of the prototypical unnamed hero, a concept that you could say Bruce Willis has almost built his career on. He is brilliant as usual here, that wonderful quick-witted, unflappable, one-liner-spewing bada** that he's so good at playing. And of course, the entire premise is just the perfect setup for a great goodguy-versus-badguy shoot-em-up. Fun movie, won't disappoint any action movie or Bruce Willis fan.

As a sidenote, if you haven't seen "Fistful of Dollars", watch it some time after this. It's where the whole "Man With No Name" character that made Clint Eastwood a household name started, and it's even better than this one. And after that, do not miss the original, "Yojimbo." I hate to be one of those people who is always saying, "the original was better...", but.... well, it is. It's really amazing. It's a black and white film from 1954 or so, and obviously it's subtitled, but I promise you, if you enjoy this one, even someone who doesn't do old or foreign films willl love it. And you'll see just how much all the subsequent versions owe to it, sometimes entire scenes word-for-word. Each time it was remade it got slightly diluted, but it's a story that's just so dang good that it always worked in spite of it.

Great movie.
