About the Movie
2018 ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE. Winner of the Grand Jury Documentary prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Syrian filmmaker Feras Fayyad’s breathtaking work – a searing example of boots-on-the-ground reportage – follows the efforts of the internationally recognized White Helmets, an organization comprised of ordinary citizens who are the first to rush towards military strikes and attacks in the hope of saving lives. Incorporating moments of both heart-pounding suspense and improbable beauty, the documentary draws us into the lives of three of its founders – Khalid, Subhi and Mahmoud – as they grapple with the chaos around them and struggle with an ever-present dilemma: do they flee or stay and fight for their country.

Fresh: A documentary both urgent and mournful ...
Fresh: [It] may not be the most comprehensively explanatory or analytical film yet made on the war, but it's the one that provides viewers with the most sensorily vivid and empathetic sense yet of how it feels to live (and die) through the carnage.
Fresh: A tightly focused, on-the-ground account of three men who serve in the White Helmets.
Fresh: Hard to watch, but necessary.
To all who say it is fake

The ppl of Syria, wanted to live free of dictator and ask for freedom and democracy, the answer was death distractions and chemical attack, OH.... it's fake it's freak that more than half million got slaughter by the regime and more than 1 million are known in jail, and about 5 million have been displaced .
God help the innocent
Perfect image of the horror that has been going on for the past few years. To hell with Assad and whoever helped him destroy these peoples' lives just to stay in power.
