About the Movie

Acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder makes his animation debut with "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole," based on the beloved books by Kathryn Lasky. The film follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father's epic stories of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father's favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd's jealousy has terrible consequences-causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole-Soren's only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

Rotten: We're left with something gorgeous, turgid, and emotionally impenetrable -- less a movie, more an Imax screensaver. – Tim Robey, Daily Telegraph (UK), Nov 29, 2010

OMG.......this movie is action-packed,humerous,fun,and has cool special other words, its AWESOME!!!!!.Zack Snyder has pulled it off again. Please make a sequel.....PLEASE!!!!!

Feel good family-fun.

"Legend of the Guardians" is a visually spectacular film with dark tones but a sweet, moral center. The story is that The Pure One's,(don't let their name fool you), plan on using the unspeakable power of these magic rocks to destroy all whom they call weak. An owl named Soren sets off across many miles of land and sea to warn the only ones who can stop them, The Owls of Ga'Hoole, while making new friends along the way. The voice acting is done by a pretty unfamiliar cast, but they are a pleasent suprise and should be in future films. Geoffrey Rush, from "Pirates of the Carribean", and Hugo Weaving, of "Transformers" fame also support the cast. The CGI-animation, coupled with director Zack Snyder's signature slow-mo make the film's action sequences absolutely beautiful. The film also has an almost spiritual sense of morality that just makes you feel good inside. "Legend of the Guardians" is overall just a plain good film. Thumbs up.
"Legend tells of a noble band of warriors, known as the Guardians of Ga'hoole. Whenever trouble is at hand, seek them out. For they are sworn to protect the innocent, and vanquish evil." - Noctus
