Not even worth renting!

I decided to rent this movie as oppose to buying it as I knew it was on the low budget end of films. WOW! Do I regret even renting this! This movie is terrible & has that SyFy movie feel. Save yourself the cash by not buying or renting this! The ‘Leprechaun’ doesn’t even resemble anything near to a traditional leprechaun. Acting in this was no better & well the plot is not memorable. Skip this!

What about the original

When I first heard about this movie I was extremely excited being a fan of the leprechaun movies but this was a huge let down. It was nothing like the other leprechaun movies which were a mix of horror action and comedy but leprechaun origins takes itself far to seriously and does not take after it's predecessors with the comedy. Also the leprechaun should have been Warwick Davis and it looks nothing like what a leprechaun should look or act like because it looks and acts like a mindless beast. The acting and special effects were mediocre at best and the plot was not original and was sort of like an Irish version of vacancy. Overall the movie was a huge disappointment and I expected better.

Filmed in California, with the odd Land Rover thrown in for “authenticity” with a cast full of awful American actors. What are the producers thinking? Why not produce a Broadway play and win a Tony? What a crazy waste of money...
