Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Neither Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal nor a creepy-crawly monster can save this Alien ripoff. There's no life in Life, just leftovers. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Mar 24, 2017

Fresh: Life... a taut, suspenseful thriller that's more enjoyable the less you think about it. – Brian Lowry,, Mar 24, 2017

Fresh: Life has cool effects, real suspense and a sweet twist. It ain't rocket science, but it does what it does well -- even, one might say, with a kind of genius. – Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post, Mar 24, 2017

Fresh: Those who have seen Alien will have a pretty good idea what's coming, at least to a point. Once things reach that point, however, all bets are off. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Mar 25, 2017

One of the worst movies I've seen in a long time

I love sci-fi, but this movie sucked pretty hard. It was predictable, unoriginal, and an uttler waste of time and money. Big budget on the special effects, poverty on the story/script. Even if you have a chance to watch it for free, don't. Just don't. It really doesn't even deserve one star, but I can't give it anything less.

Disregard common sense

Graphics are ok, actors are good, the story is terrible. Physics, biology and chemistry are bent to an insulting degree.

Very poor movie

Predictable, poorly edited, very little makes any sense. Especially the "twist" at the end, which is pure misdirection through editing. See "Alien" instead.
