Plot Summary

Taken from the legendary Metallica box set (the largest selling box set of its kind in history), Live Shit: Binge & Purge was originally offered three complete concerts: 2 separate shows on DVD (available here for iTunes); alongside a third concert captured on CD (1993). Part One of the footage was filmed over two nights in San Diego (1992), and Part Two in Seattle (1989).

I love this live show.

Arguably, most metal fans consider Metallica's prime to be in the late 80's to late 90's, and this is the best example why. Metallica ruled the world during the late 80's/early 90's and for the people who were too young to attend one of the shows back then, including myself, will especially love this. The quality is amazing, the guitar tone great, but Hetfield's voice during this time was even greater. Mix that with Newsted's bass, Kirk's pristine leads, and Ulrich's awesome sounding drum kit, this is a live show you won't soon forget.

Epic, amazing, incredible and an absolute must!

This is an exceptional video and at a great price. These two shows capture Metallica on the And Justice For All tour and the Black Album tour, at the very hight of their dominance. While they are still the ultimate heavy metal band today, they were just reaching that stature during these shows. This is not something to miss!

Back When...

Metallica was a machine. The Seattle concert is worth the price of admission. Too bad it's not in HD - that's about the only reason I wouldn't buy it. However, the ...And Justice For All tour was incredible and it's captured quite well here. The set list alone is amazing! And listen to James... yep... he sounded killer here years before he blew his voice during the recording of The Black Album. Watching this really makes me miss the Metallica of those years (before they needed a therapist to deal with their issues).
