Oscar® nominee Nick Nolte and Academy Award® winner Susan Sarandon star in this powerful and unforgettable drama based on a true story. For Augusto and Michaela Odone (Nolte and Sarandon), the news that their five-year-old son, Lorenzo, has a rare terminal disease is sobering, to learn there is no known cure is devastating. Despite the prognosis, the Odones embark on an extraordinary mission of love, consulting and sometimes colliding with the world's top doctors and scientists in the quest to save their son. Their relentless struggle tests their marriage, their beliefs and the boundaries of conventional medicine in this critically acclaimed hit from director George Miller (The Witches of Eastwick).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: This film has an appealingly brisk, unsentimental style and a rare ability to compress and convey detailed medical data.
Fresh: There has never been a medical drama quite like Lorenzo's Oil. With indelible fervor, it captures the will - the need - to heal.
Fresh: Sarandon ... convincingly conveys a fierceness and tenacity that is almost frightening. The character never lets up, and neither does the film.
Fresh: Don't go to it for a Hollywood happy ending. Go to it to learn what it can take to be alive.
I can't believe anyone would pan this movie. Yes, there won't be a dry eye in the house, but the story is about a couple's TRIUMPH against all odds over a system that had virtually given up any hope of finding a cure for their son's disease. It's a true story, and living proof that refusing to take "no" for an answer, that striving onward when the supposed experts say you're wasting your time, is how brilliant discoveries are made. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Good movie,Extremely Depressing.

this is the type of movie where after you watch it, you realize how bless you really are
