Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Bland even for the armchair traveler, "Lost" is as inoffensive as a picture-souvenir booklet, and equally unmemorable.
Rotten: A seemingly tourist-bureau-sanctioned travelogue posing as a romantic drama.
Rotten: Lost in Florence mostly has the effect of lulling the audience into a craving for wine and spaghetti.
Someone on Facebook got it right
Somebody on Facebook said it was a romance for the ladies, and a football movie for the guys. Which seems about right, this will appeal to everybody. It's about a guy trying to figure out who he's going to be (a football player or a lawyer), and what woman he's going to be with. While he gets involved in a a spectacular and unique sport. (And with a spectacular and unique woman, too.)
And if you like Italy -- especially Florence -- it's absolutely unmissable.
I was deeply touched by this movie. Well shot, very well scored and an excellent performance from the main leads Brett Dalton and Alessandra Mastronardi. If you like Italy, you'll love this picture. Calcio Storico was a real discovery.
The ultimate combination punch: Magnificently captured romance in Firenze co-existing alongside the raw primal angst of a city's secret Italian fight tradition. When Rocky met Alessandra (Sally). Grazie!!!!!!
