Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Despite the gorgeous sights and rollicking sounds of sunny Italy, a Scandinavian heaviness hangs over the film, with a screenplay by Ms. Bier's frequent collaborator Anders Thomas Jensen, based on a story they developed.
Fresh: Dyrholm has an unusual magnetism, the kind of face that seems open and unguarded, yet you can't figure out just what it is she's thinking - she and Brosnan share an excitingly adult chemistry.
Fresh: It's the rare love story that avoids treacly sentimentality. Even rarer is a believable romantic comedy featuring middle-aged people that avoids jokes about sagging flesh and waning libidos.
Fresh: A lovely little lark with a good head on its shoulders.
A surprisingly good movie
I had a hard time telling where the movie was going but the last 30 minutes made it worth waiting to see the end. I'd live to purchase the soundtrack.
Love love love this movie!
A real love story in a beautiful setting with fabulous acting. I never knew Pierce had such sensitivity! It is tender, funny, and all together lovely! Watch it!!!
I came into this film with curiosities but no expectations. It's cute, without being sappy, has some serious surprises and is optimistic without being trite. It's simple and sweet. Kind of like lemonade.
