Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Even though Love's Labour's Lost is, in showbiz terms, a turkey stuffed with chestnuts, you wouldn't trade it for a pot of gold.
Rotten: Each player ends up performing in a different play.
Rotten: Little makes much of an impression.
Fresh: A luscious labor of love.
Delightful, fun interpretation of this classic
A fun romantic romp interpreting Wm S. in a fresh way as only Kenneth Branagh can. Tight direction, lots of music and of course that faithful dialogue. Rent it, if you like WS, you wont be disappointed.
I loved this movie, it was so awesome!!!!!!! Love Kenneth Branagh :) <3
why not wide screen
I have loved Kenneth Branagh's adaptations of Shakespeare classics in the past. This is a great romantic comedy. Sets and costumes are period 1930's. The use of standards from the era help to make this work as a musical. I have to confess that this movie is NOT in widescreen and the grandness of the the sets are completely lost!!! It is the lack of widescreen that I give this movie low stars. I will not buy this movie, as I wanted, nor will I spread praise of it until it is released in widescreen format.
