Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Ms. Rozema has made a film whose satiric bite is sharper than that of the usual high-toned romantic costume drama.
Fresh: It's alluring to see a costume drama that takes us inside the subtlest, most wrenching realities of money.
Rotten: Though it's never dull, this Mansfield Park has too much of its own agenda and too little of Austen's to completely succeed.
Fresh: Spins the most interesting modern re-interpretation of the Austen canon.
i like it
I love the charm and wit dhe displays even when thinks seem gloomy. this movie is the perfect fit for history majors
This is my favorite of all Jane Austen stories. It is well done indeed!
Way off from the book. Full of ideology, etc... Certainly not a pg-13 level film with the graphic nudity. The director took all sorts of liberties and essentially destroys the characters. Wouldn't even give it one star.
