Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: A methodical, coolly absorbing boardroom thriller.
Fresh: That Chandor manages to find the blood in each character is accomplishment enough; that he manages to make his drama both relevant and timeless portends a bright future indeed.
Fresh: Carefully crafted performances and taut pacing carry the day.
Fresh: It's a realistic take on what happens when high-flying money speculators suddenly hit ground. It's also a great calling card for J.C. Chandor, the writer/director making his feature debut.
Hauntingly realistic, brilliant cast....love the tight time frame in which the story takes place. A must see in my book.
Great depiction of why the 99% are angry
Mark this review, I'm predicting academy award nominations out the wazoo. Not the most thrilling movie but quite powerful and well acted. Jeremy Irons, and Kevin Spacey steal the show!
Great cast….disappointing script
I bet Seth(the 23 year old analyst in the movie) is the actual screen writer. Horrible screen play. This was not worth 6.99. I want my money back! Predictable, boring, dismal and lame. We figured something was up when Aasif Mahmbi (Daily Show) was playing opposite of Jeremy Irons and Kevin Spacey. At least they could have let him rant so we didn't fall asleep. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS!
