Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Married Life is an engaging romance noir, a sort of updated The Postman Always Rings Twice that packs its surprises into four characters, none of them predictable. – Desson Thomson, Washington Post, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: Married Life has enough plot twists and moments of high tension to keep the viewer engaged, but the main points of interest are the characters. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Jun 10, 2008

Rotten: This quiet, closed-in picture with its unsurprising twists and turns, lacks the steamy passion of its pulp roots. – Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer, Mar 31, 2008

Rotten: It's as dry as the martinis these well-dressed stiffs keep ordering at that perfectly preserved oak, leather and velvet bar before hopping into their vintage convertibles. – Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel, May 13, 2009

Customer Reviews

Good movie

This is a good movie. It's not the best, but it's old timey, has a good plot, and it has great actors in it. "Merried Life" is worth buying.

Surprisingly Good

Subtle and old-school, with a stellar cast. It's in the same league as L. A. Confidential. Brosnan's narrative adds a touch of intrigue.
