Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A well-acted and intriguing exploration of dishonesty in its varied forms, leavened with a dry comic touch. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Matchstick Men never really casts off its cloak of artificiality and calculation; its pleasures are minor, however distracting they may be. – Todd McCarthy, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Matchstick Men isn't even remotely intricate; it's not even particularly interesting. – Stephanie Zacharek,, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Matchstick Men glides from comedy to suspense to poignance, arriving at a destination you might not suspect...Fun while it lasts, but it's a bit of a con job itself. – David Ansen, Newsweek, Mar 12, 2018
