Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is a story about a village in Haryana, India. The movie depicts how a wealthy industrialist Harry Mandola (Pankaj Kapoor) and a cunning Minister Chaudhari Devi (Shanbana Azmi) wants to sell villagers' land for the development of an Special Economic Zone. Bijlee (Anushka Sharama) is all set to marry Baadal (Aarya Babbar), the son of a powerful politician Chaudhari Devi. A twist in the movie occurs when Bijlee finds out the intension of Chaudhari Devi and begins to help the villagers out. Bijlee teams up with Hukum Singh Matru (Imran Khan) to save the village and in due course the fall in love. At the wedding mantap a series of chaos occurs and she eventually does not get married to Baadal and instead gets married to Matru.
