Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Memento is one of those jigsaw puzzles whose pieces snap together more tightly with each viewing. Fueling it all is a performance by Guy Pearce that's as indelible as the tattoo ink covering his body. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 27, 2011

Fresh: The young British writer and director Christopher Nolan, who has every intention of putting us through the mill, doubles his fun by running the whole story backward. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Mar 26, 2014

Fresh: Writer-director Christopher Nolan's second film is one of the most original and ultimately confounding mind games to reach the screen since The Usual Suspects. – Jack Mathews, New York Daily News, Mar 26, 2014

Fresh: I can't remember when a movie has seemed so clever, strangely affecting and slyly funny at the very same time. – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal, Mar 26, 2014

Memento: Genius at Work

This is the movie for the thinking man. If you are sick of watching movies with linear, boring and uninteresting dialogue, then your answer is here. "Memento" is not for the weak. It will bend and shift the very fabric of what you know about the cinema. I urge you to take a quandry into the mind of a man who has lost everything, in an attempt to recapture his grip on reality, one step at a time.

The first time I saw this movie, I matured as a movie-lover. The second time, I fell in love with the plotline. The third, I still had questions. It does not aim to answer everything; merely leave the viewer with a greater appreciation for clever screenwriting, mezmerizing plot details and one of the best laid out circular drifts in movie history.

Please, I urge you, watch it more than once.

If you love Inception, you will love Memento too.

Christopher Nolan is probably the best director in Hollywood nowadays. The story definitely kept me guessing throughout the whole movie until the twist at the end. I love the style of this movie where it takes you backwards through the plot. This is definitely one of the most unique films I've ever seen. Buy, rent, whatever just watch this movie. It could change your view on movies if Inception hasn't already.

One of the best movies in the last 10 years... And one of the best EVER

Christopher Nolan is a genius, plain and simple. There's no point in trying to explain this movie because you just have to see it for yourself. Nolan is without a doubt one of the greatest filmmakers of this generation.
