In this 11th film of the series, Agent 007(Roger Moore) is assigned to investigate a hijacked space shuttle. Along the way, he joins forces with NASA scientist Holly Goodhead (Lois Chiles), and discovers a plot by evil industrialist Hugo Drax to take over the world by destroying Earth with nerve gas, then breeding a super race in outer space. But the indestructible mega-villain...Jaws...returns to foil Bond's planet-saving efforts. Based on the novel by Ian Fleming.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: It's one of the most buoyant Bond films of all.
Fresh: Broccoli just keeps piling on the goodies: lush Ken Adam sets, gadgetry and gams galore, super stunts and effects.
Fresh: Christopher Wood's script takes the characters exactly where they always go in a James Bond pic and the only question is whether the stunts and gadgets will live up to expectations. They do.
Rotten: Bond meets Star Wars in one of the series' sillier outings.
My First Bond
Ah, the 70's. This was the very 1st Bond film I saw in the theaters, so it'll ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. Silly, campy, sure- but alot of fun while doing it! With one of the better opening scenes in any Bond film, the return of Jaws, hokey laser battles, AND Roger Moore in his prime, what's not ta like? A fun & gadget-filled adventure that's definately worth the ride!
different, but good
This is my second favorite of the Moore Bond films. It goes in a different direction than the previous ones with the space theme, but it is based on an Ian Fleming novel. (though in the book Bond is there to investigate murder and has previously met the villian). However, this movie starts and ends well, but the middle is the problem for me. Also, it is very dated! Good, but certainly not great.
The Worst of the whole entire James Bond franchies!
I am a huge James Bond fan but Moonraker is just plain awful. At the end of The Spy who Loved Me it said the next bond film would be For Your Eyes Only, but because of the success of Star Wars, the crew decided to make a science fiction 007 movie, and boy oh boy did it fail. First of all, James Bond is not a space man, he is a secret agent working for the British Government, and secondly, this movie takes place in 1979 and they already have a spacestation and laserguns, that makes no sense. I also think the relationship between Jaws and the blonde girl was really stupid and not nesecary at all. If anyone likes this movie then I really pity you. Please don't waste your 10 bucks on this piece of garbage, but if you are really anxious to see it, then just rent it from the video store.
