Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Mr. Scott creates a disappointingly skeletal Frankenstein story that entertains efficiently but vacuously. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Sep 1, 2016

Fresh: Morgan is an unassuming little thriller, nicely put together and engaging enough while you're watching, though its memory is likely to vaporize hours, or even minutes, after you've seen it. – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine, Sep 7, 2016

Rotten: The predictable twist hampers the story's suspense, and the film doesn't dip beyond the superficial. – Sandy Cohen, Associated Press, Sep 2, 2016

Rotten: A dull, listless, derivative chunk of celluloid lacking any spark or even basic storytelling ability. – Kyle Smith, New York Post, Sep 1, 2016

Keep driving, nothing to see here

When Kate Mara meets Morgan, you immediatly know what connects them, and this is further played out as the movie progresses. This pretty much killed it for me. Also, no psychologist would ever treat a dangerous personality the way Paul Giamatti's character did. Toby Jones is again typecast as the mad/compassionate scientist and Brian Cox is the big guy from "corporate." Meh.

2 stars for the great acting. Luke Scott is on his way to follow in his father's footsteps, but he needs to be more subtle and add more complexity as well as create realistic characters that behave within their believable boundaries. People clearly like movies that are interesting, mysterious and meticulous. JJ Abrams knows this and Christopher Nolan does as well. Give the audience real entertainment. Give us value, not pablum.

Now that is a movie

Now that is what I call a great movie.

Morgan, Guaranteed!

I loved the movie Hanna. If you loved Hanna as well, you will love Morgan. Guaranteed.
