Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Certainly it is the finest film yet made about the present war, and a most exalting tribute to the British, who have taken it gallantly.
Fresh: That almost impossible feat, a great war picture that photographs the inner meaning, instead of the outward realism of World War II.
Fresh: A poignant story of the joys and sorrows, the humor and pathos of middle-class family life in wartime England.
Fresh: Under Sidney Franklin's watchful supervision and William Wyler's masterly direction the story has become the most stirring, heart-clutching picture of our times.
Very Powerful and Extremely Well Done
I am a teenager and I absolutely love watching films and critiquing them. I especially enjoy old films and when I watched Mrs. Miniver I was truly moved. This movie is definitely a must-see. You have got to see it at least once, its that good. It's no wonder the movie did so well with awards and nominations and all that. To see the characters grow and change through life in London in the early WWII is very well done. There are points where you will occasionaly laugh, but be sure you have a box of tissues ready at hand. This movie keeps you on your toes and has a great plot. Greer Garson does an amazing job alongside Walter Pidgeon (Who is familiar to me as a much older Morbious in the movie: The Forbidden Planet). You'll love it because it is so real and shows you how life really is to be in war.
You will LOVE this film! The acting is superb! This movie made me a huge Greer Garson fan (just completed her filmography!). If you like films related to the war, this is definitely for you!
This movie is great for all ages. The acting is superb, as is the cast. One of my favorite movies of all time. I am so happy that this is on Itunes.
