About the Movie
A blockbuster in its native Korea, where it would go on to become the country’s most successful independent film of all time, MY LOVE, DON’T CROSS THAT RIVER presents an unforgettable story of true love that transcends both generations and cultures. 100-year old lovebirds, Jo Byeong-man and Kang Kye-yeol, have been inseparable companions for 76 years. Observing this fragile couple for 15 months, director Moyoung Jin acts as a fly-on-the-wall, capturing the tender moments of their twilight days - as the two face the inevitable reality that their time together will soon be approaching an end.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: There is visual poetry in Jin Mo-young's documentary, "My Love, Don't Cross That River," and unblinking observation as well.
Fresh: It's a sweet movie - just not not wholly a "documentary" to whose reality you'd necessarily trust your own grandmother when depositing her at the rest home.
Fresh: My Love, Don't Cross That River is a moving tribute to the beauties and mysteries of life and death, an exploration of how growing old gives the gift of time, but there's never enough.
Rotten: As fly-on-the-sarcophagus violations of human dignity go, here's one I deeply regret witnessing.
My god.. This was one of the best films I've ever seen.. Nothing has tugged on my heart strings like this movie..must see!
A Beautiful Movie
This is a wonderful film. It hints at the meaning of life. Watch the subtitles though, they go by quickly.
