Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: In contrast with Grecco's evocative photos, his film is scattered and platitudinous, skimming the surface of his subjects and betraying his high-art aspirations with a shallow E! aesthetic.
Fresh: An entertaining, adeptly crafted documentary that treats its provocative subject matter with refreshing respect.
Rotten: All the naked people on display here are certainly easy on the eyes, but it's not much of a stretch to say that, as usual in Hollywood, the book is better than the movie.
2-star carried by the photography
This is a documentary of a photography project that just happens to focus on the pornographic industry. It reveals little, beyond the photographers own "naked ambition" to better his own career. Much like the photo project itself, it is poorly researched and is set against a 3-day timeline that can produce precious few actual insights. The photographs are revealing in that they activate the imagination, however adding a shallow narrative does little more than cheapen the photography. If you like documentary, this is a pass.
I thought this movie was going to just be another boring documentary, but it wasn't. This movie really let's you see the true personalitys of mostly the actresses in the adult film industry. It also displays alot of beautiful photos taken by a world renoun photographer, with a little bit of comedy thrown in. All around good movie, I give it four stars.
Great film. This is not just a look behind the curtain of the porn business, its a fresh take on the industry as a cultural phenomenon.
Incredible photography with a fascinating subject matter.
