Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Most of the time [Zellweger] looks uncomfortable in the role -- as in, what am I doing in this hammy, undercooked movie?
Rotten: The film starts off as a tedious, lifeless ordeal and it stays that way with a vengeance.
Rotten: Jokes fall flat, the story goes limp and Zellweger will no doubt want to forget she was ever New in Town.
Rotten: A shockingly banal script lends the movie a generic awfulness; you wish Zellweger were in better hands.
Made me laugh, but not because it was funny...
Wow. I'm from Minnesota, and the horrible, horrible fake accents in this movie are worse than in Fargo. Do they seriously think we talk like that? Thanks, New in Town, for making us all look like hicks who only listen to country music and have never heard of indoor heating. The acting and plot was terrible, too. At least me and my friend got a good laugh out of how bad it was.
Get over it...
I liked the movie it was really cute. This movie was awesome and I bought it to own, I love all the actors they crack me up. I am from Texas and Louisiana, and every movie about the areas I from always goes way above and beyond with the talking, but its JUST A MOVIE. So I don't take it personal, who cares, again its JUST A MOVIE... Get over it...
A Sweet Romantic Comedy
If you like romantic comedy and Renee Zelwegger, you'll really like this movie. It was sweet and not raunchy. I enjoyed it enough to buy it.
