About the Movie
"One of the 20 Scariest Movies of All Time" (Entertainment Weekly), George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead still sets the standard for all indie fright flicks. This 40th Anniversary Edition, authorized by the director himself, reanimates the landmark tale of five strangers who struggle desperately against hordes of the walking undead. Re-mastered and loaded with all-new Special Features, Night of the Living Dead remains "a bona fide classic..still very scary after all these years" (Jason Jones, Classic-Horror.com).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Although pic's basic premise is repellent -- recently dead bodies are resurrected and begin killing human beings in order to eat their flesh -- it is in execution that the film distastefully excels.
Fresh: George Romero's remarkably assured debut, made on a shoestring, about a group of people barricaded inside a farmhouse while an army of flesh-eating zombies roams the countryside, deflates all genre cliches.
Fresh: I felt real terror in that neighborhood theater last Saturday afternoon. I saw kids who had no resources they could draw upon to protect themselves from the dread and fear they felt.
Fresh: Over its short, furious course, the picture violates so many strong taboos -- cannibalism, incest, necrophilia -- that it leaves audiences giddy and hysterical.
Just a note...
Just as a note for all interested parties: Night if the Living Dead is in the public domain and thus can be found for free, no strings attached.
The Greatest Movie of All Time
This movie created a genre.
Genuinely Scary and a movie DECADES ahead of the rest.
Best of the Best.
best horror flick ever!
This is an amazing movie George A. Romero is a genius. I hate how people say it would have been better in color. I think black and whit makes a film more scary. I recommend it for zombie/horror fans buy or rent it i bought it, and never looked back.
