Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: It may surprise people who've experienced the Gallaghers only in tabloid-fodder mode that "Supersonic" teems with stirring and even moving moments.
Fresh: Captures the essential cheek, unbridled power chords and thundering rhythm section that make for an arena-worthy band.
Fresh: A riotously enjoyable, appropriately deafening flashback to one of the last moments in music history when a bunch of knuckleheads with guitars could conquer the world on chutzpah alone.
Rotten: By eschewing cultural context, outside voices, or songwriting analysis, the film matches the group's insular arrogance, although there's genuine insight into the family dynamic.
Mind Blowing from start to finish!
Oasis have been a huge part of my life since they broke into the scene in the 90's. I can honestly say I know just about everything there is to know about their story. This is by far the most in depth reflection of their rise as a band, that I've ever seen.
Narrated exclusively by Liam & Noel (along with the rest of the band and close friends), the documentary did such a great job of reminding people how important Oasis was from a cultural standpoint. I'm so glad I lived through their prime. I have no idea how they found some of the footage they found. They unearthed holy grail footage that I'd only ever heard of as legends. Even the most hard core Oasis fan will learn or see something new here. Take a walk down memory lane feel the goosebumps along the way.
I was 15 when Oasis played to 250,000 people at Knebworth. Where were you while they were getting high?
Saw this last week in the theater here in the US in one of the very few places showing it in my state. Being my favorite band, I may be a little biased, but in comparison to other documentaries on bands, this one is hands down in my top 5 of all time. The commentary is amazing. Even for super fans like myself, there was a ton of new footage and interviews I'd never seen. I can't wait to rent this and check out the extras! 10 out of 10 I would watch this again and recommend it to anyone even casually interested in the biggest, and in my opinion the best band to come out of the U.K.
Such an epic rockumentary! These were definitely some of the best times of my life as they were for the band. Everything from the sibling rivalry to the social controversies is revealing in this film. An must for every Oasis fan to watch!
