About the Movie
Omar, a young baker turned freedom fighter, is accustomed to dodging surveillance bullets to cross the separation wall to visit his secret love Nadia. But occupied Palestine knows neither simple love nor clear-cut war. When Omar is captured after a deadly act of resistance, he falls into a cat-and-mouse game with the military police. As suspicion and betrayal jeopardize his longtime trust with accomplices and childhood friends, Omar must face painful choices about life, manhood and love.

Fresh: A fraught film ...
Fresh: It's told with a stark, pitiless clarity that leaves you with fewer answers than before.
Fresh: Abu-Assad offers no solutions here. Instead he paints a portrait of the daily rhythms of the occupation, an endless conflict that has seeped into every aspect of life in the West Bank.
Fresh: This gripping Palestinian thriller evokes Gillo Pontecorvo's The Battle of Algiers in its depiction of not only the psychological pressures faced by people under occupation, but the murky moral consequences of retaliating.
The funny thing is people of Palestine live this for real, it is not just a movie, there are hundreds of similar stories to Omar. Great real acting, very close to reality, no cliches, real locations, fantastic script and just a great movie overall. It is a pity they did not win an Academy award.
Very good movie. The plot is great. It's an unordinary love story, far from the Hollywood big productions. I love the play. Awesome job.
Great Movie! Highly recommend
Suspense, Action, Love Story, Deception all in one movie. I wish more of these were made.
