About the Movie

One Night Stand is a funny, intimate, behind-the-scenes journey as top Broadway and Hollywood artists take the challenge to produce four original short musicals in 24 hours. The story starts at 8 p.m. when everyone meets, teams are formed, and the creative chaos begins. Four groups of writers and composers choose their casts and hunker down for the night; each group has until 6 a.m. to to create an original 15-minute script and score. At 8 a.m. the actors and directors arrive and rehearsals begin for the 8 p.m. one-night-only performance. The film provides a personal glimpse of some of America's favorite actors as they step out of their comfort zones--from Cheyenne Jackson's "fear, sweat, adrenaline and Red Bull" to Rachel Dratch's mounting dread at the prospect of singing alongside Broadway's finest voices. Richard Kind sums it up: "It's like a roller-coaster. You're terrified, but it's fun!" Watching this insane theatrical challenge keeps you on the edge of your seat and laughing.

Hilarious, Heartfelt, and Inspiring!

I saw this film last night at the Ziegfield, where a packed house loved every second of it. I'm not even a big musical theater fan, and I loved the film. Just viewing the creative process and what people could pull together in 24 hours makes you realize what you are capable of in your own life. Also, it didn't hurt that the composers and actors were hilarious, particularly Cheyenne Jackson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rachel Dratch, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul! Highly recommend!

Wonderfully entertaining

"One Night Stand" is nail-biting, poignant and very funny--a depiction of the mysterious workings of the creative process and the gut-wrenching anxiety that comes with performing. The movie features some incredibly talented Broadway stars (Cheyenne Jackson, Mandy Gonzalez, Alicia Witt, Richard Kind, Rachel Dratch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and many others) and gives you a glimpse into their process--what it's like to pull together a performance and make it look effortless, when in fact it is anything but. The movie is inspiring and totally captivating. I think it would be great to share with children, and anyone interested in the arts.

A Lot Of Work For Nothing

The end result was very bad and the process was boring. Glad I didn't have to see it in person
