A remarkable film, one of Meryl Streep's best performances
Meryl Streep's performance in this film is one of her finest, but sadly one of her most unrecognized. The film proves to be humorous, uplifting, and sad. Renée Zellweger's performance is also excellent, as she plays the role of daddy's little girl, never being close to her mother as a child. "They started off at different ends of the spectrum", in the words of Streep. The majority of the film, however, shows how both characters gradually become very close. The film also explores complex family and relationship issues that give a great deal of insight to the viewer. The supporting cast, particularly William Hurt, bring much to the film and it benefits greatly from their performances.
One of my favorite movies
Meryl Streep and Renee Zellweger are amazing as mother & daughter. The story was told in such a lovely way. There are many tender moments in this movie where you have to have your tissues ready. Great story, great acting, great movie.
Great movie, Poor quality.
The words didn't line up with the movie. It was about 10 seconds off the entire movie and was very frustrating to watch it like that. The overall movie had a great plot and was very interesting, I'm just disappointed in the quality of the rental. This was my first time renting a movie from iTunes, and I don't think I will rent one again.
