A critically acclaimed film that won a total of eight 1970 Academy Awards (Including Best Picture), Patton is a riveting portrait of one of the 20th century's greatest military geniuses. One of it's Oscars went to George Patton, the only Allied general truly feared by the Nazis. Charismatic and Flamboyant, Patton designed his own uniforms, sported ivory-handled six-shooters, and believed he was a warrior in past lives. He outmanuevered Rommel in Africa, and after D-Day led his troops in an unstoppable campaign across Europe. But he was rebellious as well insight and poignancy, his own volatile personality was one enemy he could never defeat.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: War is hell, and Patton is one hell of a war picture, perhaps one of the most remarkable of its type ever made.
Fresh: George C. Scott's performance cannot be praised highly enough for capturing both the violence and the vulnerability of the Patton personality without degenerating either into vulgar caricature or cardboard sentimentality.
Fresh: Scott strikes an unforgettable figure.
Fresh: I'd like to pin four stars on each shoulder of George C. Scott for his perspective characterization of the military genius, the controversial man.

This is not the most recently re-restored version from 20th-Century Fox. As many movie buffs may know, Patton;s first debut on Blu-ray was troubled. The noise reduction was cranked up so high that characters looked like they were made of clay. Film grain was digitally erased. In short, the film looked awful. Fox listened to fans and critics and recently re-released Patton on Blu-ray in a stunning and proper HD transfer. Buy that version. Avoid this download.
