About the Movie

Trouble-prone teen Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of school – but that's the least of his problems. The gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters seem to have walked out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology texts and into his life – and they're not happy. Zeus' lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now, Percy and his friends must return Zeus' stolen property and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Has all the CGI sorcery of a Harry Potter pic, but none of the magic. – Adam Markovitz, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Likable as Percy may be, it's not lightning he's stolen. – Rafer Guzman, Newsday, Nov 7, 2011

Fresh: Director Chris Columbus has brought together the modern and mythical spheres with sharp pacing and a nifty sense of fun that atone for the film's dippier moments. It's his most enjoyable effort since Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. – Amy Biancolli, Houston Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Like its stars, the film is genial good company. – Carrie Rickey, Philadelphia Inquirer, Feb 12, 2010

The Best movie ever

The best movie ever. This made sense and in a clever way, Rick Riordan and Chris Columbus incorporated the parts of Greek Mythology with the perfect mixture of anticipation. Good actors too. I can't wait until the second movie of the series. Also, if you have even the slightest interest in Greek Mythology, you will be hooked on the movies and book series. If you are looking for a good mixture of nerve-wracking excitingness, this is a great movie for you.

Percy Jackson

Ok, first, I LOVE THE BOOKS! Second this movie was COMPLETLY different from the books. I LOVE logan Lerman so I had to love the movie. I actually really enjoyed it. I found it pretty good. I would've loved for it to be an 8hr movie and include every word from the book, but obviously it cant be that way. Overall I enjoyed this movie. (Not better than the books, nothing can be) but still AMAZING!
