About the Movie
Anna (Rebecca Hall) and Will (Dan Stevens), were each other’s first everythings: first kiss, first love, first and only relationship. Now, 10 years in, at Anna’s 30th birthday party, as Will is about to propose, the couple’s best friend makes a drunken toast, suggesting that they should sleep around before their inevitable marriage. The joke lands like a lead balloon, but the thought lingers until Anna proposes that they try opening their relationship – as a sexual experiment. Together, they venture out of the purely monogamous boundaries of their relationship and, along the way, evolve.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Ms. Hall ... is the standout, selling Anna's indecision even through some of the script's dubious patches.
Fresh: A small story made with big performances from leads Stevens and Hall, and while it hasn't gotten the promotional push for audiences to pay attention, people lucky enough to stumble across it will fall for everyone involved.
Fresh: While it deals with heavy relationship issues including the validity of monogamy, it manages an easy, seemingly effortless humor that seduces the audience while simultaneously breaking filmgoers' hearts.
Rotten: An unconvincing treatment of familiar themes.
I enjoyed this movie for the most part. I can’t imagine trying this but whatever. It was decent.
This is another one of those movies that try’s to make the assumption that if you don’t sleep around you’ll never know how happy you could be. It sends the wrong signals to the youth that even if you’re in a happy relationship you should still sleep around. Bad movie, bad message.
A Fun RomCom
A really enjoyable RomCom. Dan Stevens is absolutely hilarious in this--when he gets high with Gine Gershon, I almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. An unexpected and original concept, plus Dan Stevens and Rebecca Hall have great chemistry together (features a beautiful NY brownstone too!).
