Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: It still is the best thing Mr. Disney has done and therefore the best cartoon ever made.
Fresh: The charm, humor and loving care with which it treats its inanimate characters puts it in a class by itself.
Fresh: Pinocchio is a substantial piece of entertainment for young and old.
Fresh: Although it may lack the heart-tugging appeal of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the consensus among animation fans is that 1940's Pinocchio remains the most perfect animated feature Walt Disney produced.

Walt Disney's Classic Morality Tale
Walt Disney has become known as the definitive children's filmmaker, a reputation he gained in large part by the fact that many of his best known films were based on children's literature. Walt's second feature, "Pinocchio", is no exception, being based on Carlo Collodi's classic children's novel. In addition to its high production values and memorable songs, "Pinocchio" is also known for being one of Walt's most heavy-handed films, in large part because Collodi's novel was itself a heavy-handed morality tale.
