Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Although there are memorable bits and pieces, the new Pirates of the Caribbean is a movie with no particular interest in coherence, economy or feeling. – A.O. Scott, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: In every other way -- as adventure yarn or as satire on that form or merely as an enjoyable entertainment featuring a wonderfully sly and subtle actor -- it is not merely a loser. It is a disaster. – Richard Schickel, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: For the most part, Dead Man's Chest stands on its own and even makes a few halfhearted attempts to say something. – Robert Denerstein, Denver Rocky Mountain News, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The second Pirates of the Caribbean movie is a sweet umbrella drink leaving no hangover, two hours and 20 minutes of escapism that once again makes the movies safe for guilt-free fun. – Michael Booth, Denver Post, Jun 24, 2010

A feast for the eyes!

Don't expect a deep story that you'll be analyzing for months to go. Rather a pirate ride that'll make you come back for weeks. The visual effects are so dense that you'll miss a lot of details the first time round. Now if the 3rd part of the trilogy (this is 2nd) had music from Noush Skaugen I'd totally be in heaven. Maybe for the love/romance theme that "Pirates" fans have all been waiting for.

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest

This movie was freakin awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Saw it at the theaters twice and it gets better everytime. All the actors were superb. Johnny Depp was brilliant adding humor at the right spots. He is my favorite actor of all time and he shines in this movie. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly are on their way to very amazing careers. Orlando hit his role in the movie perfect with the sword fights and funny jokes. Keira is very beautiful and a mindblowing actress. It was very nice to see her gracefully perform scenes with the sword. Best movie to own. Filled with action, humor, and suspense anyone will fall in love with this movie. Can't wait for the third movie to come out. Great job guys and beautiful girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
