Chubby Cara-Ethyl is having a terrible 18th birthday party until a charming pizza delivery man stops by with an unexpected gift. The thirty-something pizza guy then takes Cara out of her pained tween existence and into a night of romantic farce. This wicked comedy from IFC is a 2007 Spirit Award nominee for up-and-coming indie producers Howard Gertler and Tim Perell.

Rotten: Thin, flavorless and heavily garnished with contrivance, this odd couple comedy serves up little but stale whimsy.
Rotten: For all its quirky touches, the comedy cleaves to formula in its depiction of how they challenge and change each other.
Rotten: Forget 30-minute delivery -- this brand of indie quirkiness congealed in the late '90s.
Rotten: At the end of her spontaneous date, she says it's been the best night of her life. It will not be one of yours.
This is a great feel good movie reminiscent of the Brat Pack era; one of those films meant to be watched in the middle of the day. The scenes are gentle with typical adolescent dialogue, making the characters very real and relatable. This film does a great job at avoiding stereotypical and artificial situations, meanwhile Mark Christopher does an excellent job and character development and by the end, you are left with that proverbial good taste in your mouth.

This movie takes an ordinary girl and gives her an amazing night out with an unlikely person. Ethan Embry is amazing, and I have never seen such a real look into the life of a teenager. Not all teenagers are pretty, popular and perfect. This gives a great look into what life can be like for an outsider who wants to look in.
This movie was so good! I loved the way the movie conveyed that not all guys are jerks to bigger girls. Cara was hilarious! Very nicely done overall.
