About the Movie

Robert Rodriguez, co-director of SIN CITY, brings you PLANET TERROR, a retro-futuristic vision of horror that’s been weathered, stripped, and aged to perfection. In PLANET TERROR, married doctors William and Dakota Block (Josh Brolin and Marley Shelton) find their graveyard shift inundated with townspeople ravaged by gangrenous sores and a suspiciously vacant look in their eyes. Among the wounded is Cherry (Rose McGowan), a go-go dancer whose leg was ripped from her body during a roadside attack. Wray (Freddy Rodriguez), her former significant other, is at her side and watching her back. Cherry may be down, but she hasn’t danced her last number. As the invalids quickly become enraged aggressors, Cherry and Wray lead a team of accidental warriors into the night, hurtling towards a destiny that will leave millions infected, countless dead, and a lucky few struggling to find the last safe corner of PLANET TERROR.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Some people call this a guilty pleasure %u2013 a silly expression that has been adopted by serious minded critics who apologise for liking overtly commercial movies – Urban Cinefile Critics, Urban Cinefile, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Won't make any friends outside of B-movie aficionados, and even they might tire of laughing at all the cheapo gore being thrown around. – Anthony Quinn, Independent (UK), Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: McGowan is a suitably slinky presence as the lead avenger with a machine gun for a leg; blood and pus regularly fill the screen as Rodriguez lets rip with gleeful abandon. – Andrew Pulver, Guardian, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Following Tarantino's Death Proof, Rodriguez throws his hat into the Grindhouse ring and comes out the clear winner. Impossible not to be charmed by its gross-out effects, bad dialogue and amputee action. – Ben Cobb, Film4, Jun 24, 2010

Top 3 best zombie movies

The action was great. Its really unrealist kinda like sin city. Some awesome gore scenes. And my favorite thing in the movie is that Fergie's in the movie and she gets her brains eaten. I like fergie but it was really fun. Also a pretty fun movie when u think about some parts. Not a good movie but a FUN MOVIE. Rent it

Zombies, Awesome shoot-outs, secret bar-b-que recipes, and a chick with a leg that shoots!!!

Maybe not for the squeemish at heart. Otherwise if awesome bloody scenes are your thing this Bad-Boy won't dissappoint.

Pure blood-splattered genius

Listen, if you like Quentin Tarintino or Zack Snyder, Rob should already be on your list. I dont know what he was comin down from when he made this bad boy but it is the sugar honey iced tea! Like Tarintino, he mixes a lot of different elements, you got a army feel, the zombie thing goin on, a lil texas bar-b-que joint flavor, enough guns, knifes, and explosion to make you mess your pants, and then Rob lit all those things on fire. And he went the extra mile by making a genuinely good movie with touching little bullet-ridden sub-plots. Buy it, cool kid.
