Plot Summary

In the spirit of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films transport you to the mystical lands of Persia for this wildly entertaining, epic action-adventure. It's a race against time when a rogue prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) reluctantly teams up with a rival princess (Gemma Arterton) to safeguard a magical dagger that gives its possessor the power to reverse time and rule the world. Filled with death-defying escapes and unexpected twists at every turn — Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is a fun-filled adventure that will keep your pulse pounding long after the credits end.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: As usual, the talent in Prince of Persia is generally top notch -- from the cinematographer John Seale to the parkour expert David Belle -- but the ingredients have been masticated so heavily the results are mush. – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The story unfolds with little regard for subtlety, and wisecracks are what pass for humor. When a gaggle of gangly ostriches offers one of the biggest laughs, wit clearly is at a premium. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Prince of Persia got the go-ahead from an administration at Disney that was sent on its way last year. I wouldn't be surprised if their successors at the Mouse House wish they had a magic dagger that would allow them to go back and erase this movie. – Lou Lumenick, New York Post, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: It's not a classic, but it's sturdy enough, thanks to Gyllenhaal and a sly and grousing turn by Alfred Molina as Sheikh Amar, a scoundrel with a heart of gold -- or at least, a ticker very interested in riches. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Jun 24, 2010

AMAZING!

Though many people say this movie isn't very good, I think it was amazing!. Far better than Clash of the Titans in my opinion.

"Content to skim the Surface?" Oh, whatever!

I don't give a hoot if the movie doesn't follow the video game scene by scene, the accuracy of certain things was off, or if the dialouge is cheesy and a tad bit predictable--Jake was awesome. Although it lacked a jumk load of things hard core movie goers expect to see in a movie, it's nice to have things just unravel before your eyes, especially when the person unwraveling the story is a sexy beast.

HARSH Critics, GOOD Movie

Those critics where too harsh (except dear Lisa-Entertainment Weekly ) and I'm left wondering weather they got it anymore (do they know its a video game based action movie and NOT Citizen Kane??).... Prince of Persia movie was very entertaining and doesnt lend itself to jackass's, so if your one, dont watch it. Save yourself from the boring movies these critics like to mope around to, and sit back and enjoy the flick....
