About the Movie
"Project X" follows three seemingly anonymous high school seniors-Thomas, Costa and J.B.-as they attempt to finally make a name for themselves. Their idea is innocent enough: let's throw a party that no one will forget, and have a camera there, to document history in the making… but nothing could prepare them for this party. Word spreads quickly as dreams are ruined, records are blemished and legends are born. "Project X" is a warning to parents and police everywhere.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: "Project X" bears a cravenly piggish attitude toward rewarding socially unacceptable behavior that feels unseemly rather than exciting, so-what rather than so-funny and obvious instead of new.
Rotten: "There's a midget in the oven!" is about as inspired as the dialogue and set pieces get in this queasy-making entertainment about a 17-year-old dude's birthday bacchanalia.
Rotten: An unapologetic and breathlessly amoral cinematic debauch about a California high school kid whose parents leave town and who throws an out-of-control, alcohol-soaked, drug-fueled, sex-crazed, jiggling-naked-breast-filled suburban bacchanal.
Rotten: There is no way you could make this movie stupider or more pointlessly noisy than it already is.
Imagine "Superbad" on crack. Now crank that idea up to 1000, and you've got something along the lines of "Project X", which isn't a movie so much as it is a deliriously manic experience. The film basically revolves around three unpopular high school seniors who decide to throw the biggest house party ever to make themselves known by everyone. But what first starts out as a small get-together soon escalates into a full-blown riot that no one can control. I've gotta say, I actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I was going to. The scenarios were outrageously vulgar, the background music was amazingly catchy and the over-the-top climax was satisfyingly chaotic. However, like most found footage flicks, it did have its downsides. The main leads felt more like blatant retreads of characters from past R-rated comedies, and their personalities weren't as fleshed out as they could've been. Plus, most of the humor they delivered felt very forced and more mean-spirited than laugh-out-loud funny. But besides all those flaws, "Project X" still ended up being a solid, albeit predictable teen movie. It's definitely not as bad as how a lot of the critics on Rotten Tomatoes made it seem. Sure, the characters aren't that memorable and the plot isn't the most original, but in the end, this is a fun guilty pleasure of a film and nothing more. It's not trying to be anything more than what its premise suggests, and for that, I think it's worth renting at least once, especially if you're a fan of Todd Phillips' work.
Best Party Movie Ever !!!
Best movie ever very funny and has a great soundtrack !!
AIN'T NOTHING BUT A WHITE TRASH PARTY!!!
Project X is Awesome! No it might not not have much of a story or charater development, but did Superbad or the Hangover have one either? Anyway this was a great movie. Definitely for the younger crowd(probably 15-25) I honestly I don't get why this movie got such bad reviews. I mean the movie was exactly what it was advertise as.. a WILD, CRAZY, OUTRAGEOUS, EPIC House Party so ppl need to stop hating & enjoy the movie for what it is. In the end Project X definitely lived up way beyond my expectations. Either way weither you love it or hate it.. Project X is a one of a kind experence to be seen!!! Hope this review was helpful. :)
